Meet The Crew

30 Years of Dolphin Adventures in Gibraltar

Since 1994, Dolphin Adventure has led the way in responsible marine wildlife tourism in the Strait of Gibraltar — combining expert seamanship, genuine conservation values, and unforgettable encounters with wild dolphins and whales.

Founded 1994 · Gibraltar

Our Story & Mission

Dolphin Adventure was born from a deep love of the Strait of Gibraltar's extraordinary marine ecosystem. Our mission is to connect people with wild cetaceans in a way that fosters wonder, respect, and lasting commitment to ocean conservation — all while delivering the most memorable wildlife experience in Southern Europe.

1994

Humble Beginnings

Founded by a small team of local mariners and marine biology enthusiasts, Dolphin Adventure launched its first vessel from Gibraltar's Queensway Quay. The vision was simple: share the astonishing wildlife of the Strait of Gibraltar with the world, responsibly.

2001

First Research Partnership

We formalised our first scientific collaboration, contributing systematic cetacean sightings data to international marine research programmes. From this point forward, every tour doubled as a citizen-science expedition.

2010

Eco-Certification & Fleet Expansion

After years of self-imposed best practice, we earned our first formal eco-tourism certification and expanded to a two-vessel fleet, allowing us to serve more guests while keeping group sizes intimate and impact minimal.

2018

Whale Watching Programme

The Strait of Gibraltar's position as a migratory corridor for fin whales, sperm whales, and orcas led us to launch a dedicated whale watching season — guided by biologists who join selected sailings.

2024

30 Years of Adventure

We celebrate three decades on the water with over 200,000 guests hosted, a clean environmental record, and the same passion for the sea that started it all. The dolphins have been our companions every step of the way.

Mission & Core Values

Three principles guide every tour we operate, every partnership we form, and every decision we make on and off the water.

Respect for the Ocean

We treat the sea and its inhabitants as our hosts, not our stage. Every decision — engine speed, approach angle, group size — is made with wildlife welfare as the primary consideration.

Scientific Rigour

Our naturalist guides hold marine-biology qualifications. We log every sighting, contributing to long-term population studies that benefit cetacean conservation far beyond Gibraltar.

Authentic Experiences

We never use feeding stations or engineered encounter zones. Every dolphin you see with us is wild and free — the thrill is genuine because the encounter is genuine.

Why Choose Us

Experience, Sustainability & Expertise — All in One Trip

There are other ways to see the Strait of Gibraltar. There's only one way to see it the way we do it.

30+

Years on the Water

30 Years of Unbroken Experience

No other dolphin-watching operator in Gibraltar has been running continuously since 1994. That longevity translates into intimate knowledge of local cetacean habitats, seasonal patterns, and the subtle signs that guide us to the best encounters every single trip.

100%

Responsible Approach

Sustainability at Every Level

We operate at reduced engine speeds near wildlife, cap group sizes for a quieter onboard experience, contribute sightings data to conservation science, and offset our carbon footprint annually. When you book with us, your tour actively supports the ecosystem you've come to see.

200K+

Guests Hosted

Qualified Experts, Not Just Skippers

Every sailing is led by a marine-biology-trained naturalist, not merely a boat driver. They can identify individual dolphins by dorsal fin markings, explain feeding behaviour in real time, and answer every question you have — in English, Spanish, or German.
